I pill are also known as emergency contraceptive pill. It is just one pill which should be taken within 72 hrs of unprotected intercourse to protect against unwanted pregnancy and abortion.
It prevents the release of egg from an ovary, inhibits fertilization of egg with sperm and inhibits the implantation of fertilized egg.
It has to be taken within 72 hrs of unprotected intercourse preferably with food. If vomiting occurs immediately afterwards then another pill should be taken immediately.
It is not as effective as birth control pills so cannot be used as a substitute.
The common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, breast tenderness and occasionally vaginal bleeding which settles down by the time next period occurs.
And also some says,i-pill is only a contraceptive pill meant for preventing fertilization and not meant for causing abortion..
it has to be noted that the conflict between the moralists and the medical science is going on, as to when life begins in the womb, when is an embryo said to have been formed and the conflict regarding the moral aspect of abortion. ….
